HDD Replacement - USA Reseller Server USVIP1 ( Completed )
Posted by SkyNetHosting.Net Inc. on 29 August 2016 09:13 PM

Hello.

One of the HDD's on USVIP1 server reseller has been showing errors just after the recent CloudLinux update. The data on the faulty drive needs to be copied to another drive on the server. Currently data is being copied from the old drive to the new drive. About 90% of the websites will not work or show errors during the data data sync. ETA for the data sync to complete and all sites to be back online is 6-8 hours.

Update1: Data transfer from old drive to new drive ( In Progress )

Update2:  20% Completed - ETA to complete is 6 Hours

Update3:  70% Completed - ETA to complete is 2 Hours.

Update4:  100% Completed.

We will keep you updated on the same.

Best Regards,

This is not good. There should be a backup drive to be replaced in a hour. It's seem like in 90's server management.

Hi.

There is no drive replacement involved, we already have extra drives on the server, however it takes this much of time to sync nearly 750GB of data to a different drive on the server.

Best Regards.

Over 31 hours of downtime, unheard of in 2016! Redirect to other servers until you fix it, what a joke of a service where your paying customers aren't even notified of an outage or updates.

6-8 hours have passed almost 5 times over and you guys have not posted any updates since.

I hope that you still have our data and that there is no security implications involved in this incident!
